Herbal Extracts Vs. PowdersUpdated a year ago

You will notice nearly all of our herbal ingredients say “extract” rather than “powder” on the ingredient list.

What’s the difference?

Herbal Extracts

These are concentrated forms of the active ingredients found in plants. They are typically made by soaking the herb in a solvent (like alcohol and/or water), which draws out the beneficial compounds.

The solvent is then evaporated, leaving behind a potent extract that is rich in the desired nutrients and phytochemicals.

This process ensures that you get a higher concentration of the active ingredients in a smaller, more manageable dose.

Herbal Powders

These are made by drying and grinding the whole plant or its parts. While powders contain all the components of the herb, including fiber and other non-active parts, they tend to have a lower concentration of the active compounds.

This means you might need to take larger amounts of powder to achieve the same effect as a smaller dose of extract.

Powder capsules often equate to having to take multiple capsules to get the same potency as a single capsule from the herbal extract.
