How to use Supplements?Updated a year ago

While capsule supplements are generally understood, there may be some confusion about whether to take them with or without food. This can be highly individualized, depending on a person’s lifestyle, medications they take, or health issues. Instead of a right vs. wrong answer, let’s consider the benefits of both:

With Food
PROS: Reduces stomach irritation: Some herbs can irritate the stomach lining or cause discomfort if taken on an empty stomach. Taking with food can help reduce the risk of gastric upset.

CONS: Absorption interference: Some herbs may bind with components in food, making them slower to absorb into your system. Must plan supplements around eating.

Without Food
PROS: Quick absorption: With no food to interfere with their breakdown, supplements can be absorbed more quickly and efficiently. Flexibility: Easier to manage timing-wise, especially for those who take multiple doses a day.

CONS: Risk of stomach discomfort: Without the cushioning effect of food, some supplements may cause issues like acid reflux, stomach ache, or nausea.
