What’s The Difference Between Essential Oils and Tinctures?Updated 10 months ago

Essential Oils are made for diffusion and topical application. They are classified as a cosmetic product. We do not recommend ingestion. They are made through steam distillation, cold-pressing, or solvent extraction. An essential oil is much more concentrated than a tincture, leading to a higher potential of adverse reactions when used improperly. Essential oils also take up tremendously more plant matter to create, compared to a tincture.

Tinctures are made by soaking plant material in alcohol and then filtering it. They are classified as Herbal (Dietary) Supplements and are designed for ingestion. This is not a form of aromatherapy.
