What are herbal supplement capsules?Updated 10 months ago

Herbal supplement capsules are dietary supplements that contain herbs encapsulated in a type of shell. They are taken for a variety of reasons, from boosting immune health, to supporting cognitive function, or enhancing physical performance. And so much more!

Herbal supplements have a long history, rooted in ancient practices of using plants for medicinal purposes. The practice of encapsulating these herbs as we know it today began in the mid-20th century, largely in the United States. The health food movement in the 1970s played a significant role in the development and popularization of this style of supplement.

A key innovator in this space is Irwin Johnson, who founded Nature’s Sunshine in 1972. His company was among the first to encapsulate herbs, starting with the flagship product, encapsulated cayenne pepper. This innovation set the stage for the broader industry.
