What are Tinctures?Updated 6 months ago

A tincture is a traditional herbal remedy that is ingested for its inherent therapeutic qualities. They are potent liquid extracts of herbs, which are created by immersing either fresh or dried components of plants (such as herbs, flowers, roots, leaves, berries, or bark) in a mixture of a solvent and water. The liquid used in this process is known as the menstruum, and it effectively extracts the active compounds and medicinal attributes from the plant materials.

Following the infusion, the liquid is separated from the plant matter and carefully filtered to eliminate any remaining plant particles, leaving behind what we now call an herbal tincture.
